Beginners
For those who have never practiced yoga before or experienced students who are looking to work out and stretch without doing a more vigorous practice. This class will focus on breathing techniques, strengthening and lengthening, balancing, and introducing the student to poses they will see in more advanced classes. Great for all athletes, too!
Beginner's flow/Intro to Power
For those more experienced beginners who are ready to move through more of a flow format. Explore the foundations of the sun salutations. Students can modify up or down in a variety of poses. A fun and explorative practice.
A nice way to introduce your mind and body to the Power Yoga practice. In this class you will have poses introduced and broken down to ensure proper alignment and breath is flowing. Poses will be held longer, allowing student to build more strength in certain muscle groups. Special focus on the core muscles used to support you in your yoga practice. Excellent preparation for the faster paced Power Yoga class. Recommended for newer students and those who would like a refresher class on the basics of Power Yoga.
Power Ashtanga Yoga
A faster paced flow class practiced in a comfortable, warm (not hot) room. A great workout for the entire body and excellent way to release the tensions from your day. Exploration of more backbends ,standing balances, hip openers, and arm balances will keep this class fresh, challenging, and fun.
Intermediate
This class will begin to take power yoga students to their next level. Still using a vinyasa format, the class will begin a deeper exploration of various hip openers, deeper backbends, inversions, breathing exercises, and advanced arm balances.
Mixed levels flow
During this vinyasa style class students will be able to do a variety of standing, seated, and balancing poses with a number of modifications. The student can chose what modifications best suit them that day-if they want to play with their edges or stay in their comfort zone, this class allows room for all levels. Intermediate poses will be introduced and students will be able to work at different stages of postures.
Ashtanga
This class will start with traditional Sun Salutations and then break down the Primary Series of Ashtanga yoga, rotating between standing sequence and the floor sequence each week. Beginners
This class is open to everyone. No special fee or registration. This class is meant to open up problem areas, especially for athletes. Focus on hips, hamstrings, shoulders, hip flexors and rotators, and quads. Learn how proper alignment can help prevent injury and building core strength can help protect the spine and support the stress of many sports and activities.
Pilates:
This class is designed to help you tone and strengthen your core. Work with a variety of floor exercises to build up abdominal strength and enhance your yoga practice. All levels welcome.
