You love Yoga and can’t get enough of it. Now it’s time to take your teaching and practice to the next level with the 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with HOME Yoga and The Yoga Loft and receive your RYT – 500 certification. Over the course of 10 weekends from Sept. to June, you’ll refine and challenge your knowledge of precise alignment, intelligent sequencing, anatomy, injury prevention, hands-on assisting, daily meditation, and ancient yoga philosophy and history, and, of course, teaching. You’ll refine your time management skills, ability to change your sequence on the fly and understanding of the bodies in, and energy of, the room. You’ll have the opportunity to observe classes and read the room from a different point of view by assisting live classes, getting hands-on practical experience. We’ll explore in more depth Restorative, Yin, Beginners, Ayurveda, the Subtle Body, meditation. To deepen your practice as a consummate learner, each Saturday and Sunday will include rigorous asana designed to explore advanced postures as well as three hours of philosophy and history discussion on Friday nights. In depth posture labs will allow you to see and pinpoint the differences in tight bodies verses more flexible bodies. In addition, you’ll analyze and discuss strategies for commanding the room whether you are teaching beginners, seniors, injured or pregnant students, or even those who distract and challenge the teaching environment. An entire weekend, and then some, is dedicated to anatomy, led by board certified athletic trainer and yoga teacher Caitlin Goffman. You’ll have direct access to both Kristin Olson and Jen Ryan, who for more than a decade have been teaching several classes a week and have a real pulse on the many obstacles that a teacher faces on a regular basis. It’s time to find your own voice, become a leader in your field and have the ability to lead workshops, retreats and specialized yoga classes. Kristin will nurture your role as teacher, and you will become more confident sharing yourself and your love of yoga with students. You will learn the art of skillful sequencing to help your students progress safely in their asana practice and leave your classes with a sense of clarity and balance. Kristin will encourage your study of the yoga sutras to deepen your own practice and help you impart the subtle aspects of yoga into your teaching. Teacher training weekends are fun and thought provoking, thanks to Kristin’s passion and talent for clearly communicating and teaching yoga philosopy, anatomy, and sequencing. I am so glad I participated in HOME Yoga’s 300 Hour TT, and I am grateful to Kristin for enriching my practice and my teaching. There is an Aristotle quote displayed at the studio and on the TT page that summarizes perfectly Kristin’s approach, and inspires me to do the same: “We are all what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Karen KWhat a truly wonderful program! Kristin’s Teacher Training at Home Yoga has greatly enriched my knowledge and experience of yoga which will serve me as both a teacher and a student. Kristin created a supportive and rigorous environment that encouraged us to think deeply, participate actively, ask questions and be unafraid to share our experiences. As we covered the many important aspects of teaching – alignment, sequencing, philosophy, anatomy and assisting – we were immediately given opportunities to integrate the knowledge and apply it. Each training weekend was structured to encourage us to work hard (and we did!), yet we left feeling invigorated. It says so much about Kristin’s gift as a teacher that she is able to deliver a detailed, thoughtful training program, while simultaneously creating a supportive and close-knit community. I will greatly miss our training weekends together, and am so grateful to have been part of this very special program. Sian WEverything I wanted to get out of this training, I did. This training program will definitely advance and deepen your knowledge. I highly recommend it! Julie G. |
