Welcome to the Yoga Amistad of Massachusetts. The Yoga Amistad of Massachusetts was created to help bring together local yoga teachers and students in order to provide the best possible yoga instruction we can by lending support, sharing ideas, asking and answering questions, and continuing to educate ourselves and our students.
The Yamas is an informal gathering of students and teachers who like to gather and discuss anything "yoga". It is a way to keep up with past graduates of teacher training schools, to check in on their classes and see if they have any questions or concerns; to find out what current students would like to learn more about or see included in classes; to seek advice or guidance on particular poses or individual cases that teachers may have come across; or simply to share new tips, adjustments, cues or stories. This a free, casual way to keep the dialog and communication going in the yoga community. We also like to exchange ideas on how we can continue to incorporate the Yamas ( or moral codes) into our life, teaching and practice. The Yamas are the first of the 8 Limbs of Yoga: non-violence, truthfulness, non- greed, not-stealing and moderation.
Everyone is welcome. If you are a teacher in training, or soon to be.... it is a great opportunity to start the process of 'thinking like a teacher'.
